House of Common.

Clapham Common, London. August 2017.

House of Common (2017).

Madness's own festival on Clapham Common on the bank holiday Monday. I've seen them loads of times since the 90s, and they're guaranteed top class: no skips, great gigs, up there with the best.

The bill was a ska and reggae dream: De La Soul, Soul II Soul, The Skatalites, David Rodigan, Craig Charles.

Then Madness closed it and turned their set into a reggae revue, with Janet Kay, Dawn Penn and Linton Kwesi Johnson all coming on as guests. Two years later we were back on the Common.
