Pulp at St Anne's Park.

Raheny, Dublin, June 2023.

Pulp (2023).

A lads' gig, this one: me, my brother Andy, Martin and Carl. A month after Springsteen at the RDS, back on the dawn flight out of Luton for trip two of three. Pulp hadn't played the Republic since 2011, and St Anne's Park in Raheny on a warm June evening was about as good a setting as you'll get. Richard Hawley on support, then back out with the band for Sunrise and Common People.

Jarvis was Jarvis, dedicating Weeds to red squirrels, for some reason, and the set was wall-to-wall: Disco 2000, Mis-Shapes, Do You Remember the First Time?, Babies, This Is Hardcore. By the time Common People came round the whole park was singing it, and I had a 99 in my hand.

The setlist.
